Sausage Tree Camp

Located in the Lower Zambezi National Park, which covers an area of 4,092km2, Sausage Tree Camp, by Green Safaris, sits on the banks of the Zambezi River, in the dappled shade of towering Mahogony, Winterthorn and Sausage Trees.  This primal forest sustains an ecosystem of life, which moves freely through camp – elephants make their way past your tent to the river, silent bushbuck graze while you sip coffee on your deck, and the occasional lion or leopard moves through….

This is the Garden of Eden of Africa, and the remote location gives you the privilege of experiencing it without the crush of safari vehicles, with your own private guide, who will tailor your day to however you wish to spend it.

Your day…

Early morning coffee delivered to your tent by your personal Muchinda (Butler), followed by sunrise fishing or a game drive exploring the Riverine forest and flood plains, where ancient Baobab trees stand sentinel, and wild dogs hunt.

Afternoons relaxing with a Gin & Tonic in your private plunge pool, laps in the 25m rim flow pool, a workout in the gym, a massage on your deck…  Finish off the perfect African day with a sunset cruise, and storytelling around the crackling fire.

Luxury Tented Suites

Seven luxurious river-front suites have spacious bedrooms with king size beds, lounge area, private plunge pool, indoor and outdoor shower, mini bar, and outdoor seating on the deck overlooking the river.

Come back to this private sanctuary in-between camp activities.

Enjoy private candle-lit dining on your deck.
